Time’s ticking and the Erasmus days are numbered.
Here’s where to go whilst you still can:
1. Les P’tits Fayots
• 8 Rue de l’Esquile, 31000 Toulouse • 05 61 23 20 71 • Tuesday – Friday for lunch & dinner (dinner only on Saturday) •
Want amazing food without the Michelin Star price tag? This is the place to eat.
Les P’tits Fayots is a well established restaurant situated close to La Basilique Saint-Sernin and boasts some of the best food in Toulouse.
The innovative and original cuisine is exactly what makes it’s well-renowned chef, Aziz Mokhtari, one of the best of the new generation cooks in Toulouse.
Go for lunch with three courses for under €20 or have dinner when the parents are in town; they get a first-class dining experience, you get a free meal. It’s a win-win situation.
The bad news? Les P’tits Fayots is temporarily closed until June 2015 for renovation works.
The good news? Aziz Mokhtari will be cooking – for one night only¹ – at a new and upcoming restaurant in Toulouse: La Farinata for an exclusive event that the French like to call, à quatres mains (one restaurant, two chefs, four hands.)
2. Au Bon Servant
• 22 Rue des Couteliers, 31000 Toulouse • 05 62 75 58 25 • Tuesday – Saturday for lunch & dinner •
Hidden in the streets of Esquirol, Au Bon Servant is the type of restaurant that you’ll want to go back to again and again (and again).
Chef Nicolas Servant uses fresh and high quality ingredients to bring you excellent cuisine with mouth-watering flavours.
At a very fair price too.
The casual ambiance makes it perfect for any kind of rendez-vous and the menu changes regularly so you can try something different every time.
Feel free to give the chef your honest opinion when you do go – he’ll probably be the guy in the open kitchen wearing a baseball cap with « Au Bon Servant » written on it.
3. Fat Cat
• 4 rue Rémusat, 31000 Toulouse • Tuesday – Saturday, 18:00 – 02:00 •
Fabulous new cocktail bar next to Place Capitole. Once you go, you’ll wish you knew about it earlier.
The people at Fat Cat take pride in serving the finest spirits with the freshest fruits in a 1920s Gatsbyesque environment.
Unique and one of the hottest spots in Toulouse to relax, socialise and converse over a drink (or five). The cocktails are fresh and expertly made – the best that I’ve tasted in the city.
Be adventurous and ask them to create you something off the menu.
Every time that I take a friend there I get the same response: “This place is amazing! Why haven’t you brought me here earlier?”
But hey, don’t take my word for it. Go check it out yourself.
Bisous,
Zen
